We fell in love. Head over heels. With the wonderful Mexico. We saw dolphins, climbed Maya ruins and enjoyed the hospitality of the Mexican people. We were there for 10 days but wanted to stay twice the time if it was possible, because this place has so much to offer.
We were staying in Playa del Carmen, in the gated community Playacar. A bit sad to totally close yourself of from the Mexican life but when you want to feel safe in Mexico, this is the place to be. But do not worry, we did not feel unsafe for a second. The province Quintana Roo is really touristic and safe so you can go without fear! On top, all Mexicans are so kind & open!
Our trip started off great with a seat in Premium club. Even though it is not as fancy as first class in the big airlines, it was quite cool. First of all, more leg space so a better little nap because your legs can move anywhere. Second, a cute package with Rituals products, a really soft blanket and some other essentials. Last but absolutely not least, a very fancy dinner (in airplane terms of course). If you want to give your vacation that little extra, take Premium club on your return flight, you won’t regret it! Of course we didn’t fly for more than 10 hours to just be lazy at the beach every day (even though I would be really talented at this too). We did quite some excursions, all organized by TUI. Sometimes the price is a bit more expensive but you know everything is safe & the excursions are with a native guide who knows what we Belgians love. Our favorite excursion was Isla Holbox, a small island that didn’t have cars yet, you could drive around in a golf cart & well, it was the most beautiful place I had ever seen! I definitely want to go back there. We also visited Chitzen Itza, because who doesn’t want to see a world wonder? Apart from culture we also saw a bunch of amazing animals like dolphins, monkeys and turtles. Anyhow, I will not keep you any longer from seeing the beauty of Mexico yourself!
In a next blog I will tell you some more about our excursions!
