L’Oréal Hair Fashion Show: A front row look

After teasing you with all the amazing behind the scenes pictures of last week’s L’Oréal Hair Fashion Show it is now time to present to you: French Backstage. This show, hosted by L’Oréal Professionnel was a spectacle of dance, light, music and of course, hair!

The show was designed to present the new hair trends of the spring/summer 2016 season to 2000 professional hairdressers. There were three major hairdressing companies that each displayed their vision on the trends of the SS’16 season.

The show was built up in three parts. First there was the fashion catwalk by Maison Gerard Laurent, a succesful French ‘Artiste Coiffeur’. This show was visually amazing. A lot of volume, a lot of black & white and two very handsome models!

After the show of the talented Maison Gerard Laurent it was time for Kinki Kappers to show off their skills & vision for the upcoming SS’16 season. I didn’t know Kinki Kappers before the show but they really impressed me with their daring, but also innovating hairstyles. I loved the hand drawn coloring that they did on some of the (real) models and their enthusiasm was really contagious. Their show came with an amazing choreography and there was basically too much to look at all at once. For me as a non-professional hairdresser this show was the most fun to watch.

The last show was hosted by the four L’Oréal Professionnel ambassadors. Their looks were with a lot of gold (oh, how I love gold!) & with different styles. You could clearly see the interpretation of each hairdresser in each of his three models. The four ambassadors demonstrated their skills on stage by giving four models a totally new hairstyle. I can imagine the 2000 hairdressers being present looking with a lot of ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ at this performance.

My friend and I were blown away by the whole show and we both wanted to run to the hairdresser to try a new look (no, we eventually didn’t have the courage yet). It was an amazing evening full of inspiration, even for a girl like me who always has the same hairstyle! I hope all the hairdressers present felt even more inspired after seeing the show.

I want to thank L’Oréal Professionnel for this wonderful evening & my friend Maja for providing me with the most beautiful pictures of the show (all pictures are hers or mine).

Big love,
