I had one thing on my Christmas list that I really wanted: the new Steampod 2.0. I have been straightening my hair since I was 14 years old so I always try to buy the best straightener there is to keep my hair in a (fairly) good state. Since the reviews for the Steampod 2.0 (& 1.0) were so good, I had to have it. Read more to find out what I think about this new beauty toy.
My boyfriend was so sweet to put this (quite expensive) gift under the Christmas tree for me. The Steampod 2.0 has been launched a couple of months ago and the comments on the straightener were nothing but positive.
I have had a Chi straightener for a couple of years now and I’ve been very pleased with it ever since. According to a lot of hairdressers this brand has the best hairtools you could want. So I bought the expensive tool and my hair has gotten healthier and straighter than ever.
However, the Steampod uses steam (hence the name…) to get the curls out of your hair – this would help to make your hair healthier and shinier compared to regular straighteners. So the benefit compared to the Chi tool was good enough to try out this new toy. I’ve been using the new Steampod for a week now and I can say I’m happy with it.
To be honest – my hair still looks the same as before when I straighten it but I mainly hope my hair will get healthier and longer because of the steam that you use to treat your hair. A (small) disadvantage is that the Steampod is quite big and not that handy to bring along when you go somewhere. You also have to make sure to only use demineralized water in the compartiment.
Are you also interested in buying the Steampod? I would only recommend it if you use a straightener more than once a week and if you have fragile hair. The price is quite high (around €200) so really think before you invest!
